Learn About British Naval History Amid Tropical Surroundings

Uncover Antigua’s British influences and lush landscapes as you travel to the heart of the island. Drive with your guide into the tropical countryside, passing villages and gently rolling hills. At English Harbour, used by the British fleet during the 18th century, you will take in sweeping coastal views from Shirley Heights Lookout, once the principal British fortification. Back at the harbor’s edge, stop to explore Nelson’s Dockyard, one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The yard was named for Admiral Horatio Nelson, who commanded the navy here for three years. It is the last remaining Georgian dockyard still in use today. Explore the Admiral’s Inn, the museum and the art gallery to uncover insights into Antigua’s past. See the sleek yachts tied to the old stone quay while sipping on a drink here before returning to your ship.

After circling Soufrière Bay, continue northward while enjoying complimentary beverages as you head to Marigot Bay, once described by American novelist James A. Flexible Deposit Policy (01 April 2024 – 30 November 2026 at 7:00pm AEDT) Terms & Conditions.

  • Our Flexible Deposit Policy applies to new reservations made between 01 April 2024 – 30 November 2026 at 7:00pm (AEDT) and is combinable with all other Viking offers available.
  • Under our Flexible Deposit Policy, qualified guests can cancel their booking before the final payment due date and receive their deposit back in the form of a Future Cruise Voucher (FCV) less a cancellation fee of AU$100pp.
  • When booking airfares through Viking (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will also apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation of flights, the airline cancellation fees will be deducted from the deposit paid and, therefore, the FCV issued.
  • Guests will have 24 months from the date of issue of the FCV, to select their new date and make a new reservation on any Viking River, Ocean, or Expedition cruise.
  • The FCV has no cash value and is unable to be used as the deposit on a new booking. An additional cruise deposit will be required for the new booking, and the FCV will be applied as a ’Booking Discount’.
  • The FCV will be automatically applied at the time of booking and must be redeemed by the expiration date on the voucher. The FCV must be applied prior to final payment on the booking.
  • Once the FCV has been applied to a booking it is considered redeemed and cannot be re‐issued or used towards another cruise. Any unused balance on the FCV is lost and has no cash value.
  • Once issued, the FCV is non-transferable.
