Important Archaeological Sites and a Famous Waterway

Discover one of the most powerful cities of antiquity during a visit to ancient Corinth. Board your motor coach and embark on a one-and-a-half-hour drive to the old city. Vestiges of its importance can be seen in the many archaeological sites that dot its historic streets. Accompanied by your guide, set out on foot to discover iconic landmarks such as the monolithic Doric columns of the Temple of Apollo—dating back to 540 BC, they are among the earliest examples of monumental stone architecture in Greece. After, return to your coach for a short drive to the famous Corinth Canal; plans to build a canal through the Isthmus of Corinth predate the Romans, but the 4-mile long waterway carved through steep limestone was not completed until the late 19th century. After a short stop for photos, you will continue back to your awaiting ship.

Then, walk the quarter’s narrow streets to the Museum of the History of Barcelona, or MUHBA, which is housed in a Gothic palace. • A deposit of AU$1,000pp is required within three (3) days of booking to secure a confirmed reservation. If a deposit is not received within this time frame the reservation may automatically cancel.
  • Once deposit payment has been made, Viking’s standard cancellation penalties apply.

Flexible Deposit Policy (01 April 2024 – 30 November 2026 at 7:00pm AEDT) Terms & Conditions.

  • Our Flexible Deposit Policy applies to new reservations made between 01 April 2024 – 30 November 2026 at 7:00pm (AEDT) and is combinable with all other Viking offers available.
  • Under our Flexible Deposit Policy, qualified guests can cancel their booking before the final payment due date and receive their deposit back in the form of a Future Cruise Voucher (FCV) less a cancellation fee of AU$100pp.
  • When booking airfares through Viking (including when taking advantage of a special offer that includes air travel), standard airline cancellation fees will also apply. In some cases, airfares will be non-refundable. In the event of cancellation of flights, the airline cancellation fees will be deducted from the deposit paid and, therefore, the FCV issued.
  • Guests will have 24 months from the date of issue of the FCV, to select their new date and make a new reservation on any Viking River, Ocean, or Expedition cruise.
  • The FCV has no cash value and is unable to be used as the deposit on a new booking. An additional cruise deposit will be required for the new booking, and the FCV will be applied as a ’Booking Discount’.
  • The FCV will be automatically applied at the time of booking and must be redeemed by the expiration date on the voucher. The FCV must be applied prior to final payment on the booking.
  • Once the FCV has been applied to a booking it is considered redeemed and cannot be re‐issued or used towards another cruise. Any unused balance on the FCV is lost and has no cash value.
  • Once issued, the FCV is non-transferable.
